Sunflower Seed Oil

Beeswax
Bees secrete wax to build the structural cells of their hive. Long recognized as an important natural resource, the ancient Egyptians were among the first in recorded history to use beeswax as a protective barrier to the harsh drying sunlight of the African desert. I use beeswax in my lip balm because it is a natural stiffener and provides a natural barrier to harsh wind and sunlight without the addition of petroleum that you find in common lip balms.

Coconut Oil
Found in the heart of the coconut, this oil is rich in fatty acids that are easily absorbed by the skin and softly nourish your cells. The beautiful and radiant skin of Polynesian woman and women of the Middle East is the envy of westerners, and comes in part because coconut has for centuries been a staple in their diet. I like the rich aroma of coconut, and enjoy the silky-smooth feeling it gives my skin without feeling oily.

Glycerin
Glycerin is a natural product of the soap making process. It is a natural moisturizer and is a perfect medium for the delivery of oils and nutrients.

Lavender
Lavender is an Essential Oil. Generally regarded as a soothing and relaxing agent, lavender is a beautiful flower with a strong and comforting aroma.

Rice Bran Extract
Rice bran extract is considered a natural sunscreen, and provides natural protection from harsh sunlight. Common to aging is over exposure to sunlight. Rice bran extract provides a mild natural sunscreen and helps keep your skin looking younger.

Shea Butter
Shea butter is one of nature’s miracle products. Originating in West Africa, it is made from the shea nut tree. It is loaded with fatty acids, which are rich in nutrients and easily absorbed by the skin. Shea butter is nature’s moisturizer, and I use it as a staple in many of my skin creams.

Sunflower Seed Oil
Sunflower oil retains moisture in the skin and is rich in the essential vitamin E. It can also provide a protective barrier against infection. Studies using sunflower oil have been conducted involving preterm infants that are often susceptible to infection due to their underdeveloped skin. Infections decreased by as much as 41 percent in infants that received a daily skin treatment of sunflower oil.
